WP 2- SYNTHESIS OF A  SOL- GEL

ENRICHED MATRIX FOR CORROSION INHIBITION

The main objectives of WP2 are as follows:
· To develop and produce a sol-gel matrix compatible with the AF microorganism selected.
· To identify the physical and chemical properties of the developed coatings and their adhesion to metal surfaces.
· To integrate the selected microorganisms/compounds on a sol-gel coating.
· To determine the viability of integrated microorganisms/compounds on developed coatings.
· To validate the performance of the anti-MIC coating at laboratory scale.
· To define and select the different kind of metal surfaces where the coating will be applied.
· To demonstrate the durability of the developed coating on metal surfaces.
· To produce enough quantities of sol-gel to carry out project's demonstrators.
· To design a flow chart for the scale-up process.
· To design the final coating solution considering both laboratory and demonstration outputs.
